Tourism 'boosts Turkish property market'
A projected increase in tourism in Turkey "bodes exceptionally well for the [country's] property market", one expert has said.Rhiannon Williamson, director of ShelterOffshore.com, said: "The [Turkish] government is doing all it can to support the emerging property market. They have invested heavily in a global advertising campaign to push the appeal of the nation."
She added the fact that international and British property developers were choosing the country for their new projects was another sign that "there is massive long-term confidence in Turkey's real estate market".
Ms Williamson also said that an increase in the number of budget airlines flying to Turkey should also boost the country's property market.
She cited a report by Savills which found that areas in Europe with budget airline routes nearby witnessed up to a 37 per cent increase in property prices.
A study carried out by Homesgofast found that property prices in Turkey have risen by around 20 per cent in the last year.
