Clarkson and Bective buy Oxfordshire estate
A 1,000-acre Oxfordshire estate has been snapped up by an unlikely pairing. Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson and the Marquess of Headfort, Christo Bective, have clubbed together to purchase the property, which includes a battered farmhouse.
London's Evening Standard reports that the pair, who are neighbours with
homes in the Cotswolds, were initially competing for the estate, but eventually decided to team up to buy it. Mr Clarkson, originally from Chipping Norton, will own 650 acres, while Mr Bective will own 380 acres.
The Marquess is known as Britain's poshest estate agent, but is possibly more notorious for a brawl at his cousin's wedding at a property in the South of France which landed him in a swimming pool three years ago.
