Unforgettable blue ocean views with a lovely sunset each evening are yours at this impressive property. A road winds up into the breezy, green hills of Tortola's south coast to this stunning villa and to one of the island's most magnificent seascapes. Toa-Toa is built as five pavilions arranged around the dramatic pool set in a sunny deck. Three pavilions border the pool deck: the central Great Room offers a convenient wet bar, all media, and two very plush overstuffed sofas for lounging; eclectic teak pieces and a variety of accessories gathered from world travels accent this living area. One of Toa-Toa's four king master bedroom/bath suites - this one with air-conditioning, an indoor/outdoor garden shower and a romantic four-poster bed - is situated directly above the Great Room. On one end of the pool deck is the alfresco dining area in a shady lanai; it adjoins a country-style kitchen, with a billiard room just next door. At the opposite end is the third pavilion with a second air-conditioned king suite; the third and fourth king bedroom suites are in two additional pavilions (one above, which is air-conditioned, and one below), both easily accessible by steps from the pool deck. All four bedrooms are very spacious and well separated for serene privacy, and each offers its own individual mini-fridge, coffeemaker and a private covered balcony. Toa-Toa House is a serene and harmonious aerie kissed by cooling tradewinds and perched between vast sky and blue ocean, a perfect hideaway for reading and relaxing, although you may not be able to take your eyes off the entrancing views. Toa-Toa House is conveniently located near Nanny Cay, watersports, Road Town's shops and restaurants, and is just a scenic drive away from your choice of beautiful North Shore and West End beaches.  …see more

A hallway leads from the bedroom to its spacious en suite bath, featuring a double-sink vanity, a big tiled shower and bathtub, and another hallway into the Main Pavilion. On the south side of the Main Pavilion is a manicured lawn which borders a wonderfully unique terrace overlooking the yachts coming and going below in Sopers Hole and a panoramic vista of islands and sea clear to the distant horizon. Dark polished imbuia wood, cushioned teak furniture and a canvas umbrella give this terrace a distinct luxury yacht flavor. A few stairs from the lawn area descend through tropical plantings to the pool and tiled sun deck below, a totally private haven dotted with chaise lounges and umbrellas. The superb infinity edged pool is heated 24/7; the pool and deck overlook Tortola's Long Bay Beach, the sands of Smugglers Cove and the salt pond, where occasionally pink flamingos are spotted. The Double Cottage is just adjacent to the Main Pavilion. This unique, two-bedroom, two-bath air conditioned Cottage is just perfect for parents and small children. It offers the contemporary and Caribbean suites, two bedroom/bath suites under one roof joined by an interior hallway. Both suites have a television with DVD player and an iPod dock/CD player/radio. The Contemporary suite has a king bed and its own en suite bath, and a cool, shaded L-shaped veranda via screened french doors. The adjoining Caribbean suite, with a king bed (which can be separated into two twin beds with your advance request), also has an en suite tiled bath and a veranda overlooking the bustling marine activity below in Sopers Hole and St. John beyond. Both imbuia-wood verandas are connected at the front of Double Cottage for easy access to both adjoining suites. Next door to Double Cottage is the charming Colonial Cottage, a separate air conditioned bungalow with a four poster queen bed, en suite bath, television and DVD player, iPod/CD player/radio, a coffeemaker, microwave and min fridge for your early-morning convenience and privacy, and a wraparound veranda furnished with chairs and tables overlooking expanses of ocean and green islets and cays. Below Double Cottage is the new air-conditioned home gym, well equipped with varied fitness gear, mirrors, a television, DVD player, an iPod dock/CD player, and beautiful bamboo flooring. St. Bernard's Hill House offers serene seclusion in a very private, lush setting within an electronically-gated enclave. The official residence of the Governor of the British Virgin Islands from 1998 to 2004, very-private Allamanda Estate is situated on six acres of a breezy hilltop among lush flowering gardens within prestigious Little Mountain Estate, commanding expansive wraparound vistas of ocean and green islets. This wonderful Estate was recently refurbished in a stunning blend of Indonesian, Chinese and Indian pieces and antiques, with touches of Moroccan style found in the filigreed lighting here and there. The covered entry foyer is flanked by two stately urns, and leads inside to the tiled gallery strewn with Persian rugs and hung with original art. The gallery leads to the traditional drawing room, elegantly furnished with sink into sofas and chairs and a reading library. Adjoining through large double doors is the gracious formal dining room which connects to the large modern kitchen. Glass sliders open from the dining and living areas to a covered portico where wide arches and tropical foliage frame a sweeping native stone terrace overlooking Beef Island's south side and across the sea to the south horizon, perfect for sunset cocktails. Off the Great Room is the very spacious air conditioned king master bedroom with a romantic four poster bed and an en suite bath; this suite opens out to an L-shaped covered veranda and to a large Balinese daybed, the perfect cool and shady niche for reading that novel or snoozing. Adjoining is a smaller bedroom/bath with twin beds (or one king, if you wish), dressed in sunny yellow and crowned by an Indonesian carved wooden screen. The gallery which connects these rooms offers a home office desk complete with a desktop computer with DSL line and a fax machine. On the other side, the gallery opens to the sunny pool set like a jewel within a flagstone and tile terrace bordered with graceful palms and island flora and set with cushioned chaise lounges. On one end of the pool terrace is a shady covered deep veranda, the true heart of this villa, handsomely furnished with cushioned wicker seating for reading and relaxation in the shade, family television, tables for casual dining and games, and a wet bar containing a mini-fridge, ice maker and a gas grill. Allamanda Estate's guest pavilion is adjacent to the pool veranda, ensuring guests' privacy and comfort, and offers two spacious, air conditioned king bedroom/bath suites with a convenient and cozy foyer between them equipped with a cushioned bench, table, sink, mini fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. Original artwork and potted plants throughout enhance this Estate's gracious charm. Beautiful wood soffits with soft indirect lighting frame every room's ceiling, giving the villa a warm and welcoming feel. All bedroom suites are fully screened, and island tile and terrazzo floors help the trade winds cool the house. Allamanda Estate is the grand dame of villas, offering old world charm and quiet seclusion. The lovely tropical gardens on the Estate, defined by stonework walls, feature many species of island trees and plants, such as manjack and cedar trees, hibiscus, ixora, fragrant jasmine and varieties of ferns. You may explore old plantation ruins nearby, or continue down Little Mountain's road to Long Bay Beach below, only a few minutes' drive away. Allamanda Estate is also an ideal location for weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries and family get together's. Special arrangements may be made in advance for these special occasions, and you may also arrange for your own private chef, nanny, massages and day-spa services. A very special property, highly recommended.  …see more

The official residence of the Governor of the British Virgin Islands from 1998 to 2004, very private Allamanda Estate is situated on six acres of a breezy hilltop amongst lush, flowering gardens within prestigious Little Mountain Estate, commanding expansive wraparound vistas of ocean and green islets. This wonderful Estate has just been refurbished in a stunning blend of Indonesian, Chinese and Indian pieces and antiques, with touches of Moroccan style found in the filigreed lighting here and there. The covered entry foyer is flanked by two stately urns, and leads inside to the tiled gallery strewn with Persian rugs and hung with original art. The gallery leads to the traditional drawing room, elegantly-furnished with sink-into sofas and chairs and a reading library. Adjoining through large double doors is the gracious formal dining room which connects to the large, just-remodeled kitchen. Glass sliders open from the dining and living areas to a covered portico where wide arches and tropical foliage frame a sweeping native stone terrace overlooking Beef Island's south side and across the sea to the south horizon - perfect for sunset cocktails. Off the Great Room is the very spacious air-conditioned king master bedroom with a romantic four-poster bed and an ensuite bath; this suite opens out to an L-shaped covered verandah and to a large Balinese daybed, the perfect cool and shady niche for reading that novel or snoozing. Allamanda Estate's guest pavilion is adjacent to the pool verandah, ensuring guests' privacy and comfort, and offers two spacious, air-conditioned king bedroom/bath suites with a convenient and cozy foyer between them equipped with a cushioned bench, table, sink, mini-fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. 7th Night Free until Apr. 10, 2015. Looking out to the Atlantic from its own 4-acre promontory on Tortola's northeast shore and flanked by Little Bay Beach, Golden Pavilion has set new high standards amongst Tortola's portfolio of villas. Artfully constructed in Asian-Indonesian style in this dramatic locale, this new five-bedroom luxury estate offers complete privacy behind its electronic gate, and an accomplished staff of chef and boat captain. A pagoda-roofed portal ushers you into Golden Pavilion's walled courtyard, graced with a lily-pond and Asian statuary; a red and gold filigreed door welcomes you into the main villa's sumptuous interiors. On Golden Pavilion's ground level, the Great Room separates two wings. This central room is distinguished by handcarved wooden pillars, an ornate carved Balinese daybed, and french doors which open out to the dining terrace, pool and hot tub deck, and to a mesmerizing ocean panorama beyond. On one side is the very-impressive professional kitchen, a large, air-conditioned wonder of granite counters, custom cabinetry and an expanse of stainless steel Viking appliances. The kitchen is Charlotte's world, the estate's chef; as part of your stay at Golden Pavilion, Charlotte will prepare delicious lunches and dinners for you six days a week, and can even stock Golden Pavilion with groceries for your arrival. Also in this air-conditioned east wing is the Family Room, a media room with plush seating and a home office complete with computer, and an elegant powder room. Two equally-sized king bedroom/bath suites are also situated in the east wing, both air-conditioned and each having screened french doors which access either a terrace just above the pool deck or a small garden terrace. Down the hallway is the air-conditioned west wing, encompassing the Study, another cozy room for television, movies, puzzles or games. The master suite is also in this wing, a generous space with a four-poster king bed, sitting area, dressing room, and a large bath which features a jacuzzi bathtub, his-and-hers vanities, and both an indoor and an alfresco shower. Handsome french doors open to a terrace just above the pool and hot tub deck, providing lofty sea views of White Bay and Monkey Point. Nearby is Golden Pavilion's fourth bedroom and bath, a smaller queen suite. Bedroom suites in this home are dressed in luxury linens and heavy draperies, and finished with an artistic array of sumptuous fabrics and rich colors. Outside the french doors which flank the ocean side of the house is the heart of Golden Pavilion, an idyllic place for everyone to gather. A covered dining terrace shelters a massive carved dining table for ten to dine alfresco in style. A few steps down is the tiled pool deck, where the infinity-edge pool reflects a perfect sunny sky and blends into the endless horizon of the Atlantic Ocean. A gas rotisserie grill is on one side, a hot tub on the other; chaise lounges, hammock chairs and cushioned teak seating are ready for relaxation, and the stone fire pit is the place to gather 'round for nighttime stories and laughter. Walking paths thread through Golden Pavilion's beautiful tropical landscaping, one taking you to a bench above the ocean, perfect for watching winter sunsets or for intimate moments. Back inside, a staircase off the Great Room takes you up to The Gallery, an entertainment level with a great sound system, satellite TV, billiard table, and a wet bar with a mini-fridge and icemaker. This level is furnished with casual sofas and chairs for hours of fun enjoyment with friends and family, and is surrounded by banks of windows looking out to the views. Also on the property, just off the main villa, is the Cottage pavilion. On the cottage's ground level is an air-conditioned and extremely well-outfitted gym with satellite TV for your use, with a small patio just outside. Upstairs is a one-bedroom apartment with an air-conditioned king bedroom, a full kitchen and living area. Matt, Golden Pavilion's manager, lives nearby, just a phone call away should you need his assistance. The white sands of Little Bay Beach are only a minute's drive down the hill, if you should ever tire of the pool and the captivating ocean scenery at Golden Pavilion. Beautiful Golden Pavilion has raised the bar for the Tortola villa experience; its excellent oriental design and elements brought from around the world, a pleasing floor plan in the main villa (with all four bedroom suites on one level and under one roof), the nearby Cottage (perfect for a couple who desires seclusion), a bounty of amenities, and the pleasure of having a personal chef and an experienced island guide for your stay all combine to make this stylish villa a five-star experience - very highly recommended. A staircase takes you from the pool deck up to the very spacious master suite, which overlooks the pool deck and the sea vistas. This air-conditioned suite is distinguished by a romantic four-poster king bed, cable TV, a large double-vanity bathroom with a fabulous private alfresco shower of native bluebit stone just outside. A covered verandah which opens from the master suite completes the charm of this secluded aerie. This roomy villa announces "fun holiday" with its artistic and bold use of lively colors inside and out; it's surrounded by lovely terraced gardens and palms, anchored by handsome native stone accent walls, and is perfectly sited to catch cooling tradewinds and showcase its spectacular 180-degree vista. The moment you drive into the gated, magical grounds of Canefield House, you'll be enchanted by its glorious gardens set on 10 lush acres, encompassing a very private park-like setting. This estate home was built where sugar cane was once grown during plantation days. Stunning gardens were planted which today beautifully showcase the three pavilions comprising Canefield House. Gently tiered across a hilltop overlooking the majesty of Brewers Bay and the Atlantic, Canefield House offers three air-conditioned bedroom/bath suites and a choice of several sublime outdoor living spaces enhanced by artful landscaping. A broad, gradual staircase descends through gardens from the parking area to Canefield's main pavilion. The two-storied main pavilion is the gathering spot for everyone, offering on its main level a gourmet kitchen, powder room, a formal dining area for eight surrounded by french doors which open out to a second alfresco dining patio under a garden gazebo. An arched, main-level gallery overlooks the main pavilion's lower level, the Great Room, which is outfitted with satellite TV, music, books, a wet bar with mini-fridge, and comfortable furnishings for reading, conversation and cocktails. Tall french doors open to a semi-circular terrace above the pool, yet another inspiring spot from which to savor the soothing sounds of a murmuring fountain, tropical birdsong and cool tradewinds ruffling through tall trees; flowering yellow allamanda wreathing the terrace's broad stone benches borders sea views below. A curved staircase leads you down a few steps to Canefield's pool (which can be heated by advance request) and stone-tiled sun deck. This area is bordered by vivid plantings of bougainvillea, allamanda, heliconia and sweet-scented hoya, and adjacent is a shaded gazebo, canopied by a tall mango tree and hung with purple thunbergia. Below the pool area is an expanse of green lawn planted with bananas and other fruit trees, breadfruit, palms and other tropical flora. Situated on the far side of the main pavilion is the secluded master pavilion, housing the large air-conditioned king master bedroom with a sitting area, an office nook, and large bath with a walk-in closet, dressing area and a generous stone-and-tile shower. French doors open to a completely private covered terrace overlooking green hills, and hung with a hammock, perfect for a quiet afternoon snooze. On the opposite side of the main pavilion is a walkway threaded through gardens to the air-conditioned guest bedroom pavilion, offering the Blue Suite and the Green Suite. The Blue Suite can be made up as a king bedroom, or with two twins (with your advance request). It features satellite TV, an alcove with two built-in single daybeds, perfect for a small child or two who must be near their parents or nanny. A large walk-in closet and spacious tiled bath with handpainted sinks and mirrors are ensuite. A bank of french doors open out to a gracefully-curved covered terrace of native stone, furnished with table and chairs. This terrace is shared by the adjacent Green Suite, the third air-conditioned bedroom, a queen. This suite also boasts a single built-in daybed in an open nook, a large double-vanity bath and access to the covered terrace just outside. Each bedroom/bath suite has its own private entry. Depending on the season, guests might be treated to fruit grown right on the estate, such as guava, coconut, avocado, banana, soursop, breadfruit, mango, red and white grapefruit, papaya, key limes and lemons - ask the housekeeper or Oliver, the estate's longtime gardener, what might be ripe for picking. Canefield House offers privacy and peace enclosed within an expansive setting of natural beauty; it's the sublime outdoor-living experience here which makes this estate so memorable. At an elevation of 1500 feet above the sea, it's cooled by almost-constant hillside tradewinds, and its high locale provides wonderful views for miles into the distance, with Brewers Bay set like a beckoning blue sapphire below. You can drive down to the beach in a few minutes, or remain sequestered and relax within the lovely grounds of Canefield House, enjoying the many varieties of flowers, island plants and mature trees. The tranquil atmosphere of this very special place and its generous spaces allow everyone to have quality private time to themselves or with loved ones. Canefield House is a unique offering for families and friends seeking an intimate experience within a very private garden setting, close to nature. NOTE: 7th + 8th persons sleep on cushioned, built-in single-size daybeds in open alcoves (there are two single daybeds in Blue Suite and one in Green Suite). These beds are small and rather narrow, and are intended for use by small children or very petite adults only. A $500 damage deposit is required. This property offers reduced rates for using fewer bedrooms. Exclusive use of the villa is yours regardless of the number of rooms rented. View our rates for pricing per bedroom or request a quote. Conveniently located just a 10-minute drive to Road Town to the west, and a 10-minute drive to the airport to the east, Rhumb House sits atop a scenic promontory on almost two acres, a private estate commanding spellbinding views of Paraquita and Brandywine Bays and yachts sailing through Sir Francis Drake Channel. This impressive enclave is tucked behind a gate. A cobblestone driveway leads to Rhumb House's dramatic entrance graced by a colonnade of towering royal palms, a fanciful filigreed gazebo and a flagstone walkway that threads through tropical gardens and koi ponds and looks over 180-degree views of the Caribbean Sea dotted with green islets and cays beyond. Double doors open into a large, airy foyer with a lush atrium garden of torch ginger and ferns. An inviting sitting area faces the ocean, with french doors accessing the terrace, outdoor dining area and pool just outside. The foyer area also has a powder room done in Caribbean blue. To the left is the estate's air-conditioned drawing room, where an eclectic mix of antiques and contemporary furnishings combine serene elegance and comfort, and where the spectacular ocean view fills arched windows above cushioned window seats. The formal dining room is just steps away. An impressive dome set into the ceiling and inlaid with exotic woods canopies the grand Regency-style dining table, an objet dメart itself with wood inlays, brass stringing and quatrefoils, seating up to 16. Large windowed doors open out to terraces, a reflecting pool and gardens on three sides, and a planter of palms with a skylight above borders the fourth side of this handsome room. Adjacent are the kitchen, modest but efficiently laid out and well-equipped with a large Sub-Zero fridge, double ovens and more. Off the main entry room on the other side of the atrium is Rhumb House's air-conditioned Bedroom/bath 1, a suite where you may choose to have made up either a king bed or two twins. The spacious ensuite bath is whimsically tiled in green and blue, including the walk-in sunken shower which looks out on gardens through a sunny arched window. Air-conditioned Bedroom/bath 2 is next door, accessed by one of Rhumb House's exotic features - pathways of large flat stepping stones which span a shallow koi pond dotted with water lilies and plants and pergola overhead. Bedroom suite 2 offers a comfortable private sitting area, a bamboo king half-poster bed, a colorful and large fully-tiled bath, a connecting door to Bedroom 1 (perfect for parents with children), and it shares a breezy terrace with Bedroom 1. The lily pond's stepping stones lead on past a lion's head fountain to Rhumb House's air-conditioned office and well-stocked library, where two desks under windows let you enjoy the sublime vistas if you have to work a bit on vacation. A four-in-one printer is there for your use. The lily pond's stone bridge leads off to a hallway and to the charming living room artfully adorned with hand painted shutters and whimsical sink-into sofas and chairs dressed in relaxing pastel colors. This room is the spot for gathering to watch TV and DVD movies. Beyond is Bedroom 3, an air-conditioned king suite with a four-poster tester bed and its own balcony overlooking the pool terrace and the blue expanse of Sir Francis Drake Channel. The adjoining bath is spacious, completely tiled in a tropical theme of aqua, pink and yellow. Across the hall is air-conditioned Bedroom 4, a lovely bamboo four-poster king suite with an ensuite bath done in a captivating yellow, lavender and aqua tile design. Bedroom 5, an air-conditioned king suite with its own balcony, overlooks the pool terrace and Brandywine Bay. Its roomy adjoining bath is completely tiled in a tropical theme of turquoise, lavender and yellow. Across more stepping stones, the king Master Suite is so elegantly furnished in lavender and white, with a cool marble floor and an expansive adjoining tiled bath, also with a marble floor, a double vanity, a dressing area, bidet and two showers which look out to the sea views. Also air-conditioned, the lovely and private Master Suite opens directly via french doors to the pool terrace, but also has its own private terrace. Electronic shutters can be raised or lowered in this suite to regulate light coming in the windows. From the main corridor, an exterior staircase curves down to the Game Room, a breezeway with a full-sized pool table and just outside, a patio and a graveled bocce ball court. The laundry room is also located on this level. Rhumb House is a gracious estate, completely private, as there is no public road through it, beautifully landscaped and well laid out in its secluded and dramatic setting.
