“Outstanding villa rental in St. John with a house that provides” Great Expectations is beautifully sited, fully equipped property that provides everything a three generation family needs. From cribs, toys and videos for kids to a wading pool, adult pool and nearby wonderful beaches, everything was planned to make our stay seamless. Restaurants are close, and catering companies made dinners at home most enjoyable. With a toddler in tow, this was especially convenient. Everything about this house is comfortable, easy and well planned.

“Really Good Value” Was a great place to stay on my first trip to the Caribbean anywhere so St. John was a good choice. Very nicely decorated cottage, safe, good nights sleep in residential area, got to see the length of the island in staying at Coral Bay and going to various beaches at Cruz Bay Virgin Islands National Park on Route 20, ate dinner at Coral Bay. Nice people at the Virgin Islands, people shared their Caribbean Island trip experiences with me while touring the British Virgin Islands and I felt lucky that I chose St. John over other places. Entire island is safe for exploration, did not have to stay at a resort only which was a plus.

“Great spot for Groups” We stayed with a group of 10 adults and really enjoyed the arrangements. The master bathroom is outrageous in size and amenities. The other bedrooms in the main house share a bath, which would probably not be a problem for teens, but would not be the best arrangement if you had all 6 rooms filled with couples. The trip down to the house is a little tricky, but there are many other villas with much more treacherous drives. We have made many visits to SJ, always renting villas and this one was very well received. We enjoy the Coral Bay area over the Cruz Bay spots, but this location makes both accessible, although both are a bit of a drive. the N. Shore beaches are pretty close, especially the less populated beaches like Francis Bay. The kitchen could have used some more equipment, we were constantly running out of glasses and there was a somewhat odd assortmnent of plates, pitchers etc. The ceramic stove top looks nifty, but is not useful - very hard to get the heat right and then a mess after the smallest of spills. The views are terrific and the pool deck got a lot of use. It looks like a iPod player has been added; that was sorely missed when we stayed and the video equipment was not operational, but we really didn't need it and did not mention this until checkout (as it really wasn't a problem). The management was great, with checkin and checkout very smooth - since our group consisted of veteran SJ travellers, we really didn't need much. The wireless router is housed in a room off the main house and its reach was a bit short - you needed to be sitting inside to get internet when it would have been nice to be able to sit at the pool deck and enjoy the sun and the views while trying to stay a little connected to the mainland. All in all, a place to recommend and a management experience that is sure to please.

“Beautiful home, beautiful view” We really enjoyed our stay on St John, and the Villa Catalini was a very nice house, very clean, well appointed, gorgeous view. The basement room was accessed from outside of the house which the kids liked, and we enjoyed the peace and quiet that provided. We stayed at 6 homes during our 6 week vacation and this was the kids favorite. Be warned the roads on St John are very steep, and a 4x4 is required even to get up some of the paved roads on a dry day. I have no ideas for any improvements, it was great.

“Great villa for couples or small families” It can be cost-prohibitive for couples to stay in Villas on STJ...they're usually much more cost-friendly to multiple couples or large families. So my wife and I did a lot of villa research before this last trip to STJ, our 4th. And for the price, location, villa design, views and overall amenities (a/c in bedrooms, washer/dryer, full kitchen, etc.), Mar De amores is really tough to beat. Only knock would maybe the lack of a hot tub, but there's a nice-sized pool that we enjoyed and preferred relaxing in after all those hot, fun days running around the island. We did not bring our small children on this trip, but if we had, we feel like they would have done great in this villa. It's very safe. We were really comfortable in this villa, always felt safe and secure, and the proximity to town made everything that much easier. Highly recommend. And the owners could not have been easier to work with.

“Amazing!!!” From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were home. The house is beautiful. I searched for weeks to find the best house for our group, and this one did not disappoint. Catered Too was so helpful as well. I would rent here again and will use CT next time we are on STJ. Pros... It is close to Cruz on all paved roads. It has a well-stocked kitchen, with tons of beach towels and linens. We had one issue with a power outage (island wide); the guy was there to fix it before most people were even out of bed. He was friendly and helpful, giving us suggestions on where to go on the island. The sunset views from the decks are amazing. It is perfect house for eight college friends to share for the week. Cons...We wish the greeter would have taken us the Centerline road instead of by the Westin. It may be shorter, but we had seven first timers on St. John and it was very intimidating. There was a weird, loud and continuous drip in the lower level bedroom. Some of the beach chairs were broken and we didn't realize it until we got to the beach. (There were plenty for the next trip.) There was always a puddle of water between the pool house and the main house, several people slipped during the week. I would recommend this home for a group.

“Beautiful Relaxation” On a beautiful island like St. John there is so much to see and do. But to wake up every day and come home every afternoon to this home is the best part. We have stayed in the home 3 times and will continue to do so whenever we can. Great layout for 2 people or 8 people - our max so far is 6. Beautiful views, quiet and peaceful. Catered To management knows how to treat their clients - we recommend them to every one!

“Perfect vacation for 4” La Bella Vita had been my favorite place to stay on St. John. It still is if you have the upper bedrooms in use. The lower bed room was used for our daughter and it was damp and musty smelling.Could also be just a bit cleaner. Spider webs on the inside lighting fixtures and outside railing and chairs.Also the poster beds make it difficult to watch tv. It obstructs your view of the tv. Person meeting us to take us to the home would very quickly give you an "attitude" when not on the correct ferry or you expressed your dissappointments with the house.
