There’s more to England’s South East than London’s metropolitan buzz. The area is crammed with picturesque architecture and textbook English villages. There are plenty of walking paths – the South Downs Way and the Thames Path take ramblers right through the heart of this area. The southeast has long been the wealthiest region in England, and Windsor Castle is to be found here. Kent is England’s garden, with rolling green hills. Canterbury is a must-see for its cathedrals and medieval buildings, as is Winchester.
