Hidden Gem

We arrived at Caso do Largo in Silves to the warmest of welcomes from Peter, our Host. Peter showed us around his beautiful property which he has lovingly restored and had even left beer and wine in the fridge for us to enjoy. Caso do Largo is perfectly situated to explore the stunning medieval town of Silves. Only a short walk to a fantastic selection of restaurant and bars plus the castle and the cathedral are a definite treat to explore. Caso do Largo is a well equipped property with all modern amenities and boasting three large bedrooms all with en-suite facilities. The kitchen opens up onto a small courtyard which is perfect for breakfast in the morning or just a quiet place to chill. There are steps from the courtyard up to the decked roof terrace which is a perfect area for catching some rays and relaxing. Sun beds with cushioned pads are provided along with a dining table and chairs and plenty of parasols for shade when needed. There is also outdoor furniture with a pull over shade which is great for spending time relaxing with a cool drink and watching the sunset and stars at night. A jacuzzi/hot tub is also available which is bliss to either cool off during the day or to relax in at night looking at the night sky. Caso do Largo is an absolute gem and we would thoroughly recommend this to travellers that are looking for the a proper Portuguese experience and living amongst the locals instead of the usual tourist traps. Peter is a warm, friendly and informative host who was very quick to respond to any questions we had. We shall definitely be returning in the very near future as Caso do Largo is the perfect property for the authentic Portuguese holiday. … see more

Even better than expected

Barry and his wife Moira are wonderful hosts - very friendly, welcoming and genuinely glad to see you. Their place is very close to the river (but never in danger of flooding) in the midst of orange groves and is so quiet and peaceful (except for the birds) you can't even hear yourself. It is a few minutes drive outside of Silves (not as stated in the advert) and Barry suggested he meet me at the nearby Hotel Colina Dos Mouros which he did in a few minutes and guided me to his place. Once arrived he quickly offered a lovely cold beer as we enjoyed sitting outside and swapping stories. 1/2 a mile down the country road is a very good local restaurant / bar where I also met a few Brit expats who live in the area. They were so friendly and full of local information to help a newcomer like me - just as Barry and Moira had been. Silves is only minutes away and definitely worth exploring. Portimao is a short drive away as well as the area beaches. If you are a golfer there are lots of courses nearby including 4 owned by Pestana of Vila Sol, Vilamoura fame. I enjoyed myself so much I am returning this week for a longer stay. … see more
Large Algarve Holiday Home with Private Saltwater Heated Pool
Excellent townhouse lovely view of Silves castle well equipped and decorated with nice outside area and pool

Great views to Silves Castle, very convenient to town and amenities, walkable to town and supermarket. Perfect for what we wanted which was a quiet location away from town and we wanted cycling routes to the hills and quiet roads from the property. Great house inside, possibly too big for us as a couple as it had three floors and three bedrooms. Possibly one complaint was that the downstairs living room was huge and a bit bare and the one settee very small and a bit old and faded. A very good tv with loads of channels and great wi fi and mobile connection. Kitchen was pretty good, a fab delta coffee machine but maybe could be better equipped re.basic food provisions like salt pepper etc. and cleaning washing up equipment like kitchen roll a dish brush etc, However the maid was superb and the house was spotless !! The double bedroom was excellent with great views and a really comfortable bed. Very happy with our stay in the house, helped by excellent 20 degrees warm weather and sunshine for 7 days and miles and quiet peaceful roads for cycling. Jane and Paul from South Wales UK … see more

Amazing Villa!

We had a great week at Sergio’s villa. It literally had everything we needed for a fun filled family week. The pool was fantastic. Lots of different types of seating in the sun and shade of some old established trees. We enjoyed the sunsets! The entire villa has air conditioning which we loved (40 degrees!). The kitchen in the villa is well equipped and our son loved the table tennis table! All fixtures and fittings were new/well maintained. Perfect little cottage for couples in beautiful Silves

We enjoyed our stay very much, the cottage is lovely and perfect for a couple, situated in the calm, peaceful and romantic town of Silves. It was a strategically good point to start our daily trips (car recommended!) as the town is situated more or less right in the middle of the Algarve. We almost always found a parking place right next to the flat. The landlady was very nice and helpful, in advance she sent us documents with recommendations for restaurants, markets, the direction to the flat, the wifi key etc. Also she provided everything we asked for. All in all we are completely happy with our choice, would also come to the cottage again and we recommend it to all travellers who enjoy calmness and are looking fora less touristic but more traditional place to stay. … see more
