Paris to benefit from faster train service
Paris to benefit from faster train serviceProperty values in Paris could increase as the city enjoys even greater transport links with the rest of Europe.

From the middle of November, Eurostar is set to offer even faster train services from London to Paris via the St Pancras International station. It is expected that the current travelling time could be reduced by around 20 minutes when the new service is introduced on November 14th.

Paris real estate is already enjoying a boom period with many overseas buyers investing in rental properties, holiday homes and second homes as the country's so called "Sarkozy" effect could bring long-term economic reforms.

The new president is planning to introduce a number of tax breaks and favourable rent yield reforms aimed at boosting property ownership across France.

Andrew Rowe, customer relationship manager for French Property Links, explained: "In the past, the typical French dream has been countryside cottages, renovation projects and small townhouses but foreign buyers and investors are increasingly looking into the Parisian pied-a-terre."
