New flights between London and two Cornish airports are set to boost the region's property market. Air Southwest has launched a twice daily service from London City Airport to Plymouth and Newquay.

The new flights are good news for those thinking of investing in holiday cottages in Cornwall, claims estate agency Knight Frank. The agency says that interest in holiday homes in north Cornwall is already on the rise and the new service is set to add to the boom.

"The new flights will be ideal for those who live in London who currently have, or hope to own, a second home in Cornwall," said Miles Kevin from Knight Frank. "The existing routes from Gatwick and Stansted have proved incredibly popular with south east owners with a second home in Cornwall, but this really is the icing on the cake for those who live in more central London locations or work in the City or Canary Wharf."

The service started on April 20 and stops at Plymouth before terminating in Newquay. It is expected that the route will be popular with commuters wanting to maximise their working day, as it has a check in time of just 15 minutes. Prices start from £29 one way including taxes, charges and baggage.
