Hand luggage rules relaxed
Hand luggage rules relaxed
Passengers travelling from European airports will now be able to take liquids on board the aircraft, it has been announced.A ban on hand luggage had been imposed in the wake of the foiled plot to blow up a UK passenger plane over the summer.
Since then, airport authorities had been particularly strict on what could and could not be taken on board.
However, from Monday 6th, the rules on hand luggage will be relaxed and passengers will be able to take small amounts of liquids and toiletries on to the plane.
British Airways welcomed the announcement. A spokesman for the airline said: "We at British Airways welcome any relaxations to the current hand luggage restrictions. This will bring us in the UK in line with the rest of the EU and we think that it is important that we all work at a level playing field across the EU."
