David Beckham signed up to promote California

David Beckham has been signed up to promote California. It is hoped that Beckham will help to attract British tourists to the state.
Beckham was spotted filming on one of what The Daily Mail calls "California's golden beaches" last week. The advert is part of a tourism campaign to encourage visitors to the state, which is likely to benefit owners of
California condos.
Crowds of visitors watched as Beckham kicked balls into the water at
Santa Monica beach. The footballer "looked quite the American", wearing a white shirt and a pair of chinos.
Once the shoot had finished, Beckham signed autographs and posed for photographs with fans. Before filming the advert, he and his wife Victoria took their three sons to lunch in Beverly Hills.
California's governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is believed to have approached Beckham and asked him to get involved. The campaign also features the actor Rob Lowe and the singer Vanessa Williams.
