Brazil's property market gets one in the net

Brazil’s property and tourism markets are set to get a kick in the right direction with the aid of some big names from the sporting world, such as David Beckham, as the city of Natal vies to host World Cup matches in 2014, reports The Telegraph.
Footballer David Beckham is helping create the eponymous 'David Beckham World of Sport' near Natal, in the north-east of the country. As well as his name, Beckham will provide input in the planning and design of the professional sports complex, which will be part of a larger, luxury resort in Cabo Sao Roque. Beckham's venture will sit alongside a motor racing centre created by
Brazilian Formula One star Rubens Barrichello, as well as golf, polo and tennis academies.
Off Plan Property Exchange explains how these projects are not just good news for tourists but will also give a helping hand to Natal’s property market and the local economy. Samantha Gore, of Brazilian property specialists UV10, told the website:"Although some people might think that a soccer academy offers a tenuous link to the property market, tourism and property investment are close cousins and each have a knock-on effect on the other. The more people attracted to an area, the more buoyant the property market becomes, for they all need short term accommodation."Disneyland had done the same for
Florida's property market, Gore went on to say.
Natal has already seen plenty of investment on the tourism front, with 10 new golf courses under construction and a new airport set to open in 2009, which will be the largest in
South America.
