UK holiday homes 'sound investment choice'

A new survey has revealed that holiday homes in the UK could be your best bet as summer draws ever closer.

Property investment advisors Assetz said that Britain offers advantages over some other European destinations, including lower deposits, as well as simpler property purchase laws.

Holiday lettings could also provide holiday home owners with greater revenue in a week than residential lettings could make in a month, according to Assetz.

Stuart Law, managing director of Assetz, said: "Investors are searching for higher yields in order to continue profiting from their investments in light of rising interest rates, and UK holiday homes present a great opportunity."

He added: "If the investor employs a holiday company to manage the property, they will benefit from a hands-off investment as they will not have to worry about cleaners and maintenance, and with gross yields of ten per cent they will still make a profit. What's more, they can use the property during the void periods for their own holidays - a nice bonus."
