Rental property in Italy a 'sound choice'
Rental property in Italy a 'sound choice'The rental markets in the Italian cities of Rome, Florence and Venice are "exceptionally attractive", it has been claimed.

Renting in these areas is particularly popular, with those buying property to let enjoying "excellent occupancy levels", according to Rhiannon Williamson, director of Amberlamb.

She explained: "High yields, massive demand, excellent occupancy levels and the ability to target the tourism market as well as the corporate let and long term tenancy market all make buying to let in the likes of Rome, Venice and Florence sound choices."

Furthermore, she said, Calabria is an increasingly popular choice for holidaymakers due to its "improved accessibility" and "better marketing of the charms of the nation".

Those wishing to invest in property may find the markets in Rome, Venice and Florence too expensive, added Ms Williamson, while Calabria offers "an affordable entry point" with good rental yield.

Channel Four TV series 'A Place in the Sun' claimed that the property market in Italy has never rocketed like that of Spain and France, with the possible exception of Tuscany.

However, steady underlying capital growth in the country has meant that the market is a still a safe bet in the long run.
