Holiday problems 'ruin breaks'
Holiday problems 'ruin breaks'A significant number of British holidaymakers say that encountering problems while away ruins their break, according to a new survey.

Research from Fisher's Travel SOS found that 15 per cent UK holidaymakers felt they did not have the "information or the means" to deal with problems they encountered.

Problems that were encountered included running out of money, pick-pocketing and getting ripped off.

Just 12 per cent said they coped with the problems they ran into while on their holidays, while less than a third said their trip went without a hitch.

Julian Fisher of Fisher's Travel SOS said: "The results showed a marked rise with incidents but more worryingly travellers are increasingly finding themselves stranded and unable to resolve their dilemma simply for lack of information."

She added: "Even the simplest of tasks when dealing with people in a foreign country, especially when unable to speak the language, has contributed to high stress levels already acknowledged throughout the industry."
