Holiday homes on the web see huge traffic increase
Over 35,000 people visited holidaylettings.co.uk each day in March, according to newly released statistics. The figures, compiled by internet analyst Hitwise, constitute a ten per cent increase over the previous month's numbers.
The site is now the most popular online home rental portal for homeowners and holidaymakers.
Ross Elder, managing director of holidaylettings.co.uk attributed part of his company's growth to its recent partnership with Rightmove.
Mr Elder said: "Whilst we still have some way to go in terms of inventory on our site, the number of site visitors and generated booking enquiries has continued to grow since we joined forces."
"We are confident that the service we provide as a means of advertising, along with high levels of customer service support and increased brand awareness will see us grow at an even faster and stronger rate in the coming months."
The boom in Britons holidaying overseas continues apace.
The Social Trends 2006 report from the Office of National Statistics showed that UK residents took 42.9 million foreign holidays in 2004, the latest year for which statistics are available.
