Holiday home investors 'should head to Goa'
Holidaymakers looking for a cheap break should head for the sandy beaches of Goa, according to a property expert.According to Les Calvert, director of Property-abroad.com, Goa is the most popular destination within India and attracts a significant amount of interest.
Commenting, Mr Calvert said: "[Goa is] always popular and of interest over the winter period, that's when most people go to Goa.
"It's a cheap holiday destination – and it's getting cheaper all the time… That's mainly the interest for investors."
Holiday home owners should consider the location due to its relatively cheap property prices. The property expert said that the Indian government's recent change in regulations, which allow foreign investors to bid on projects without involving local partners, has not made a difference to the holiday home market.
Mr Calvert said: "I don't think it's made a huge difference on sales, but I'm sure it will.
"I haven't really noticed a huge upsurge in enquiries… but I'm sure it does make a difference."
