French ski resorts offer summer rental returns
The development of new flights to France has lead to greater accessibility for many popular resorts during the summer months, claims a leading property company.VEF believe that owners of ski rental property could capitalise on the demand for summer accommodation from holidaymakers and ensure maximum yields all year round.
Trisha Mason, managing director of VEF, explained: "Access to ski resorts has always been reasonably good during ski season. However, the growth of airline routes has meant that many ski areas are now easily accessible throughout the year. This gives the investor a greater chance for summer rental income as well as ski season income."
There has always been strong demand for property located close to the key ski resorts in France, with those properties nearer the mountains attracting higher premiums, especially if within walking distance of the slopes. Therefore, holiday let owners are likely to be attracted by the possibility of increasing yields for the full 12 months of the year to cover high purchase costs.
