Florida, NY still hot for holiday homes
The traditional holiday destinations in the US are still the best places to invest in property, according to an industry expert. With the British pound currently surpassing the two dollar mark, investors are set to look across the Atlantic in order to get "more bang for their buck".
And according to BuyAssociation, these prospective holiday home buyers should look to areas such as Florida and large cities such as New York.
"There may be a rise in the number of visitors to the traditional holiday destinations, as people rush to take advantage of the favourable exchange rates," commented Paul Collins, overseas property editor for BuyAssociation.
He added: "Owners in Florida may want to step up the marketing of their properties to make the most of this, though the happiest owners will probably be people who own short-term lets on Manhattan, as British bargain-hunters pack onto flights to the Big Apple to snap up goods that have suddenly become much cheaper."
