Croatian property 'at least a medium-term investment'Anyone investing in a holiday home in Croatia is unlikely to make a "fast buck", one expert has warned.

According to Rhiannon Davies, director of Amberlamb, the current economic climate means that buying a property in the country should be considered at least a medium-term investment.

She said: "Prices have been increasing dramatically and some might say unsustainably and this is certainly worth consideration if you're a buyer on the verge of buying in now."

However, she also pointed out that prices in Croatia are currently lower than in some neighbouring countries as it has not yet joined the EU.

Ms Davies explained that this could mean that the value of property increases again in future, if and when Croatia is granted membership of the union - a phenomenon that has been seen in other accession states.

Croatia is already receiving money from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in order to improve infrastructure. The bank has invested €24 million (£18.8 million) to help boost the tourism industry.
