Metro Goldwyn Mayer mansion goes on sale in Beverly Hills

Samuel Goldwyn Jr., son of the Metro Goldwyn Mayer film tycoon Samuel Goldwyn, has put the family's Beverly Hills estate up for sale. The Hollywood mansion is reported to be on the market for the first time ever.
Described as a "once in a lifetime opportunity", the
Goldwyn mansion in
California's Beverly Hills area is for sale for $24m, according to the realestalker blog.
The "legendary" Georgian style mansion was built in 1934 and has hosted some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including
Charlie Chaplin,
Clark Gable,
Frank Capra and
Marlene Dietrich. The Goldwyn mansion was also used as collateral to finance films produced by Goldwyn senior.
The listing information reveals that potential buyers are greeted by an over-sized motor court, suitable for turning stretch limousines. In addition there is a solar heated swimming pool, pool house, a sunken and lit tennis court, terraced gardens and expansive lawns.
Inside, the 10,982 square feet mansion boasts a lift, elegant staircase, six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a projection room as well as numerous living rooms and dens, a library, an office and a guest suite with its own entrance.
It is predicted that the Goldwyn mansion will sell quickly and quite possibly for more than the asking price.
