Madonna, the Beckhams, and Wayne and Coleen all see house values plummet

As house prices continue to fall, it is not just average homeowners who are feeling the pinch. Celebrity homeowners have also seen the value of their properties plummet.
Madonna and Guy Ritchie, Wayne and Coleen Rooney, and Victoria and David Beckham are just some of the celebrities who have seen their properties lose value since the beginning of the year, reports The Sunday Mirror. Using information supplied by
property valuation website zoopla.co.uk, the paper reveals how much
celebrity homeowners are losing in property value.
Madonna and Guy Ritchie's country estate in
Wiltshire has lost £445k in value.
Ashcombe House is one of several properties owned by Madonna in the UK and is where she and Guy "go to hunt and play at being English aristocrats". It was valued at just under £10.7m in January, but is now worth £10,233,900.
Wayne and Coleen Rooney have seen the value of their "purpose-built footballer's palace" in Prestbury,
Cheshire fall by 6.1 per cent since January. The newlywed's neo-Georgian mansion, which has 8ft-high security gates, a home cinema and three double garages, is now worth £3,730,300 - down from £3,970,669.
Another footballer and wife have also seen a drop in the value of their house.
David and Victoria Beckham's
Hertfordshire 'Beckingham Palace' has lost £220,000 in value. The Grade II listed 1930s house was bought by the Beckhams in 1999 for £2.5m and has had a reported £5m of refurbishments, including seven watchtowers. The Beckhams' property is now worth 37,745,937 (down 2.93 per cent since January).
Other celebrities who have been affected are
Sharon and Ozzie Osbourne, whose house in Chalfont St Peter,
Buckinghamshire has lost £249,000 in value,
Tony and Cherie Blair, and the X-Factor's
Simon Cowell. The Blair's Georgian town house in
London's Connaught Square has fallen £109,000 in value, while Cowell's Kensington pad is now worth £264,000 less than in January.
