What type of property should I buy as my holiday home?
You've decided where you want to buy, but now you just need to choose what kind of holiday home you want.
Before you make any final decisions ask yourself a couple of questions:
What kind of rental property is going to attract holidaymakers?
What should you avoid when looking for a buy-to-let property?
A few further points to think about are....
|

|
Cater for the masses. Look at the property from your potential guests' perspective and go for a property with mass appeal. If you want to rent it out when you're not there then try and avoid anything too individual.
Be blown away. Look for Unique Selling Points (USPs) - from stunning views to luxurious balconies, every home has them and they'll give your property immediate marketing value.
Look to the future. Consider paying a little more to get more back in the long term. Direct sea views may come at a slight premium, but they will also boost your property's appeal to holidaymakers.
Hit the target. Think about what kind of holidaymakers you want to attract. If you want to appeal to families, then a spacious villa is better than a studio property.
