More holidaymakers drawn to Turkey
More holidaymakers drawn to TurkeyIncreasing numbers of Brits are holidaying in Turkey, it has emerged.

Figures from the European Union show that 1,840,307 visitors arrived in the country from the UK this year, up 14.58 per cent on last year.

Indeed, numbers are set to continue growing as Turkey is predicted to be among the top three Mediterranean tourist destinations by 2020.

Director of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office (TCTO) in the UK, Sermin Ozduran, told Breakingtravelnews.com: "These figures demonstrate that Turkey is a year-round destination offering something for everyone; from adventurous family holidays to bespoke cultural tours, every visitor can chose from a wide range of experiences.

"[These include] visiting the ancient remains of many civilisations, indulgent spa treatments, relaxing in our natural hot springs, or seeking out Turkey's wildlife."

Meanwhile the Turkish Statistics Institute recently revealed that total tourism income in the country was up 6.5 per cent from last year, at £7.04 billion for the first nine months of this year.

Ready2invest.com has claimed that there is significant demand for rental accommodation in the country, noted for its "strong tourist sector".
