Budget flights could hike rent in Cape Verde, expert claims
Budget flights could hike rent in Cape Verde, expert claimsEmerging travel markets such as Cape Verde have benefited from the growth in cheap air travel, experts have said.

Obelisk International, an international property investment company, stated that budget airline routes were capable of having a profound impact on the overseas property sector as they could indicate future investment hotspots.

Kevin Prior, investment director at the firm, commented: "Airline routes are a very important factor when dealing with emerging overseas property markets."

He added that airline price wars could translate into higher rental prices due to the savings made on travel costs.

The British Air Transport Association recently said that local airports had also boosted the popularity of emerging markets, as places such as Cape Verde were now more accessible.
