Spanish estate agency offers free divorce to clients
A Spanish estate agency is offering a free divorce to clients purchasing one of their properties. The latest offer comes as estate agents throughout the country are offering clients novel incentives to buy villas in Spain.

The free divorce is being offered by the Geimsa estate agency, which sells villas in Huelva province. The Telegraph reports that anyone buying one of Geimsa's three bedroom homes for 68,000 euros (£61,000) can take advantage of the offer.

"A divorce is very expensive," said Geimsa's Vanesa Contios. "So we are offering clients the free use of our lawyers to handle the process." The company also recently offered a deal worth 100,000 euros to couples thinking of getting married - an all expenses paid wedding and a brand new apartment.

Elsewhere in Spain, approximately 30 other estate agencies have offered discounts of up to 40 per cent and a year's free mortgage to buyers going through a divorce or separation. Buy one get one free deals and selling raffle tickets have also been tried in order to boost the housing market in Spain.

It is estimated that there are one million empty homes in Spain. Recent figures have shown that the number of house sales throughout the country has fallen by 40 per cent in a year.
