Slovakia offers great prospects for buy-to-let investors

Buy-to-let investors have been advised that Slovakia offers a lot of potential. Petra Gajdosikova of Slovakia Investment Property recommended the best bets in the Slovakian buy-to-let market.

Investors interested in purchasing on a buy-to-let basis in Slovakia's holiday rental market should look at the High and Low Tatras mountain areas, according to Gajdosikova: "Another area to be watched out for are the High and Low Tatras and Liptov regions. These mountain regions of outstanding natural beauty and great skiing conditions still offer excellent prospects for growth as well as holiday letting." The holiday letting market is mostly limited to ski resorts and areas nearby, she added.

The destinations around Jasna, Liptovska Mara reservoir and the Liptovsky Mikulas are "top in terms of annual visitor numbers and occupancy rates", said Gajdosikova. If investors buy wisely then they can expect reasonable yields.

Oher areas that are worth thinking about are those near "holiday centres", such as the popular water parks. "If the idea of holiday lets appeals, the mountain ranges in Slovakia offer great long term prospects and an excellent opportunity for personal use as well as letting to tourists," Gajdosikova concluded.
