Albania 'set for property boom'
Albania is on "the very cusp of a property boom", according to one expert.Robin Barrasford, managing director of Barrasford and Bird Worldwide, explains that a steady flow of infrastructure investment and the possibility of EU accession make the nation attractive to potential buyers.
He said: "As pioneers of the Bulgarian property market, our experience points to Albania as one of the last pseudo-European countries that will offer excellent returns for investors."
Mr Barrasford added that the capital city of Tirana is likely to offer the highest return on any investment.
However, the country has stunning coastlines similar to those of
Montenegro and
Croatia and such areas also offer potential for anyone looking to buy a holiday home, he concluded.
Situated on the Adriatic and Ionian seas, Albania features a number of tourist attractions including Butrint, a UNESCO World Heritage site which was home to an ancient Greek colony and later a Roman city.
