Treehouse restaurant opening in New Zealand
Treehouse restaurant opening in New Zealand
A treehouse restaurant is to open in New Zealand. The Yellow Tree House can accommodate up to 18 diners and is now taking bookings for its opening this month.

Diners will soon be able to enjoy their meals 10 metres up a redwood tree near Auckland. Uniquely, The Yellow Treehouse has been built using services sourced only from the Yellow listings directory.

Project manager and restaurant operator Tracey Collins says they have been inundated with booking requests for the onion shaped restaurant. On her blog Collins writes that they are now taking reservations for the remaining dates between January 9 and February 9. Due to its popularity, they are also looking at extending the restaurant's opening period.

The three course menu will change daily. Lunch will cost NZ$95, while those having dinner in the treehouse restaurant will have to pay NZ$125. Food will have to be winched up to guests, as the kitchen is on the ground.

Diners will get a glass of wine upon arrival and will then be served antipasto on the walkway as they make their way up to the treehouse. Dinner will be cooked using local produce from New Zealand's Matakena region and accompanied by wines from North Auckland.

Collins is enthusiastic about the restaurant's opening: "It will be truly magical experience - the treehouse is even more incredible when you see it in person. Dining here will be truly amazing."
