Romeo & Juliet balcony open for weddings in Verona

The balcony from Romeo and Juliet is now available for weddings. Visitors to Verona can now get married on the balcony thought to have been immortalised in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
The first couple tied the knot on Juliet's balcony last Monday, when the city of
Verona in northern Italy opened it up for wedding ceremonies. The balcony forms part of the 13th century mansion of the Cappello family, who, according to Reuters, are thought to be the Capulets from Shakespeare's tragic play.
It will cost lovers renting
villas in Italy who want to marry on the balcony 700 euros, provided they are EU citizens. Non European couples will have to pay nearly 900 euros for the Verona wedding licence.
The first modern day Romeo to wed his Juliet was Luca Ceccarelli, a star player in Verona's football team. "I feel very emotional...marriage always gives strong emotions in a situation like this," he said before exchanging rings with his bride. "We hope that this [will] bring us a lot of luck."
