Kyrgyzstan 'offers adventure and stunning scenery'
Kyrgyzstan 'offers adventure and stunning scenery'Kyrgyzstan is perfect for an adventure holiday with a difference, one travel expert believes.

Writing for Travelbite.co.uk, Natasha von Geldern explains that while the country might not seem the most obvious tourist destination, it still has plenty to offer.

Activities such as horse trekking and attractions including one of the oldest bazaars in Asia are among just some of the delights on offer, she stated.

The country is also home to some stunning scenery with the Paramir Alai mountain range - which separates Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan - being one of the most notable geographical features.

"Approaching the mountains from the village of Sary Tash through soft green pastureland, the altitude is high enough for yak herds as well as horses. This is serious trekking and mountaineering territory," Ms Geldern said.

However, those looking to explore the region should hire a guide due to the nature of the terrain, she warned.

Formerly part of the USSR, Kyrgyzstan achieved independence in 1991.
