More details of the Harry Potter theme park have been unveiled. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is due to open in Florida next spring.

Harry Potter fans are in for a magical experience, says The Times. Hogwarts Castle will be one attraction at the Universal Orlando Resort, but holidaymakers renting Florida villas will be able to delve much further into the world of Harry Potter.

The theme park, which has the backing of Harry Potter author J K Rowling, will recreate various shops from the series of books and films. Visitors can stop in a at Ollivanders wand shop, while Dervish and Bangs will be stocked with magical instruments and equipment, including Quidditch tools, spectrespecs and Remembralls.

A rollercoaster will enable holidaymakers to take a Hippogriff training flight and the Owlery will have birds nesting in the rafters. People will also be able to send postcards with the Hogsmeade postmark via the Owl Post.

To complete the experience, food and drink will be served at The Three Broomsticks and the Hog's Head pub. Universal Studios called the theme park a "monumental project" that is "unlike any other".

The stars of the Harry Potter films spoke enthusiastically on a Universal Studios webcast. "I would come out of films when I was younger and absolutely just wish that world could be real and that I could be a part of it," said Daniel Radcliffe, who has played Harry in all six films. "It's amazing that people will get to do that."

Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, added: It's going to be like walking into the films and really experiencing it." The last film in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, will be released in two installments in 2010 and 2011.
