X Factor's Simon Cowell wants country estate

Simon Cowell is looking to buy a country estate. The X Factor creator is reported to have viewed several properties.
According to The Mail on Sunday, Cowell has been "sniffing around" Kiddington Manor in
Oxfordshire. The £42m estate is described as a "stately pile" and only recently came on the market. Kiddington Manor has 2,500 acres of land, including most of Kiddington village.
It is not known whether Cowell was taken by the estate, but he is believed to have rejected two other possible homes in recent weeks. The Sunday Times reports that he turned down an estate just outside of
Henley on Thames, on the market for £10m. The 49 year old, who is joined on the X Factor by fellow judge Cheryl Cole, also viewed another property in
Berkshire, but did not make an offer.
Should Cowell find his quintessential estate, it will add to his property portfolio. He already owns a £12m mansion in
Los Angeles as well as property in
London's Holland Park,
Malaga and
Dubai. It is thought he is having more homes built in
Barbados and Beverley Hills.
