Sienna Miller house hunting in West Wales
West Wales is becoming increasingly popular for celebrity house hunters. The latest big name looking for property in Dylan Thomas country is Sienna Miller, according to The Times.

Miller, who stars in the Dylan Thomas biopic The Edge of Love, is reportedly house hunting around New Quay on Cardigan Bay in West Wales, and has a budget of £1m.

Devon and Cornwall used to be the choice for city-dwellers wishing to relocate to the country. However, rising house prices and ever larger populations there have led to Wales increasing in popularity. Estate agent Delyth Davies said: "Everyone who used to go to Cornwall wants to buy here. In the past couple of months, almost all our sales have been going to people from 'the other side of the [Severn] bridge'."

Would-be property investors do not need to sacrifice their quality of life; as Davies points out, many towns are now "more than thriving", with several boutique destinations. As a result, house prices in the region are increasing; estate agent Andrew Morgan estimates that the price of cottages and farmhouses has increased by about 30 per cent in the past five years.

Miller would not be the only celebrity resident in Wales; Julie Christie gave up the Hollywood lifestyle and moved to Powys, where she now breeds sheep.
