Daniel Craig has bought a new flat in London. Craig stars in the new Bond film, Quantum of Solace, and his new home is close to flats designed by the real life Goldfinger.

Craig paid £4m for his new apartment in London, according to The Telegraph. The Quantum of Solace star is having the property near Primrose Hill completely refitted before moving in.

Craig was last week seen showing his girlfriend, film producer Satsuki Mitchell, round his new apartment. The area has "impeccable Bond credentials"; 007's HQ is a short walk away, described in Ian Fleming's Bond books as being near Regent's Park.

Furthermore, Fleming's real life nemesis, the architect Erno Goldfinger, designed flats near Craig's new London apartment. Fleming disliked Goldfinger's modern style and named Bond's adversary Auric Goldfinger. Erno Goldfinger threatened to sue Fleming as a result.

Regent's Park was also where the double agents Kim Philby and Donal Maclean were recruited by Russian spy Arnold Deutsch during meetings on park benches.

Craig's spokeswoman has refused to comment on the reasons for his purchase in the area. Quantum of Solace is released on October 31.
