London rail strike disrupts travel
A rail strike in London is causing disruption for travellers. A two day strike by National Express East Anglia is now underway.

Only a very limited number of services will be running, according to Reuters. Most of rail operator's trains in and out of Liverpool Street station will be cancelled today and tomorrow.

Over 200,000 people use the service each day and National Express has apologised to passengers in London for the disruption. The rail operator blames the strike on "unrealistic" demands from the unions representing its workers.

However, Bob Crow from the Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers union (RMT) says that its members are "determined to secure a fair deal on pay and conditions". Consequently, another two day strike is planned for August 20 and 21.
