ETA bomb explodes in Mallorca
ETA bomb explodes in Mallorca
A bomb has exploded in Palma Nova, Mallorca. The Basque separatist group ETA is thought to be behind the explosion.

Spanish authorities have closed ports and airports on Mallorca, reports The Guardian. Two Guardia Civil police officers were killed in the attack.

The bomb exploded early this afternoon, 400 metres from the town's beaches. The explosion took place near the police barracks and hit a police car on patrol.

Security forces say that they have sealed off the island "to avoid the escape of the terrorists". This is the second bomb in as many days to target Spain - the first injured 65 people in Burgos, northern Spain, yesterday.
