A new travel guide is educating tourists on 101 things not to do before they die. The unique guide advises travellers to avoid 'once in a lifetime' experiences as they will only end in disappointment.

The guide, entitled Can't Be Arsed: 101 Things Not To Do Before You Die, has been penned by TV producer Richard Wilson, the man behind Have I Got News For You, writes The Telegraph.

The tongue-in-cheek travel guide suggests that landmarks such as the pyramids in Egypt and the Taj Mahal in India may not be to everyone's liking.

Writing about the pyramids, Wilson jokes: "They are right next to... Cairo. It's like turning off the Birmingham ring road and finding the Hanging Gardens of Babylon."

Meanwhile, describing Machu Picchu in Peru, Wilson quips, it's "something you could watch Michael Palin climbing up on TV - all in the company of the 400,000 intensely irritating gap-year students who think it's 'totally awesome, dude'".

However, other travel guides are of a different opinion, leaving holidaymakers to make their own minds up; the cult book 100 Things To Do Before You Die advocates visiting such sights as well as more obscure experiences, such as nude surfing in Australia and land diving on the Pacific island of Vanuatu.
