Thames to return to Tube map

The River Thames will be put back on Tube maps. Boris Johnson, mayor of London, was among those who reacted angrily to it being removed by authorities.

Transport for London (TfL) recently published new Tube maps, which featured neither the Thames, nor fare zones. According to the BBC, Johnson learnt of the change on his return from New York and quickly expressed his displeasure.

Defending its position, TfL said the map had become cluttered and lost its simplicity. However, following an "overwhelming public reaction" the Thames will be reinstated on the next map due out in December.

For the next few months, tourists renting London apartments will have to make do with what members of the public have called an "incredibly stupid" and "terrible" version of the map. Another critic told the BBC that the decision was "insulting to London".
