holidaylettings.co.uk got April Fool's Day underway early. Distributed to the media last week, Buckingham Palace, Hagrid's Hut, The Gingerbread House and The Old Woman's Shoe proved a huge success, attracting much attention through Twitter.

After releasing details of the properties to the media, over 30 mentions of the jokes were generated through the micro blogging site Twitter. This included mentions by both The Guardian and The Times on the social networking service. These in turn led to many Twitter users copying the posts to their profiles while others contacted our press office for more details.

Featuring on The Guardian's Travel Blog, Bed and Breakfast at Buckingham Palace proved particularly popular. The property was also listed as one of the Top 10 travel April Fool's on Times Online.
