Gordon Brown to holiday in Lake District
Gordon Brown to holiday in Lake District
Gordon Brown will be taking a Lake District holiday this year. Brown will also spent some of his three week holiday in Scotland.

Brown will joined by his wife, Sarah, and their two young sons. The Daily Telegraph hopes that it will be third time lucky for Brown - his past two UK holidays have been dogged by political problems.

It is not known whether the Browns will stay in one of the many Lake District cottages available or in alternative accommodation. However, when the family holiday in Scotland, they will use their constituency home.

Wherever they stay in the Lake District, there is plenty to keep the family occupied. The paper suggests that as well as the region's popular lakes, such as Windermere and Coniston, the Browns could visit the Pencil Museum in Keswick or Ostrich World in Penrith.

Described as a "reluctant tourist", Brown's holiday in Dorset two years ago was cut short after just four days due to the foot and mouth crisis. Last year's Suffolk break in Southwold came as Labour lost an important by-election in Glasgow East.
