United Airlines introduces annual baggage subscription
United Airlines has introduced an annual baggage fee. The carrier's Premier Baggage scheme allows passengers to pay a flat fee for a year's worth of luggage.

Premier Baggage will appeal to passengers who travel frequently to the US. For an annual fee, the subscriber and up to eight co-passengers travelling under the same confirmation number can check-in two standard bags each.

The scheme applies to all United Airlines flights within America and internationally. Premier Baggage is currently available for $249 (£155) although this will increase once the introductory period has passed.

Passengers are advised that a Premier Baggage subscription doesn't cover oversized luggage or bags exceeding weight limits. A subscription can be purchased via the United Airlines website.
