Pilot protests in Europe

Pilots are protesting in Europe against long working hours. New rules are being phased in that determine how long pilots should fly.
The BBC explains that no pilot protests are taking place in the UK as industrial action by pilots is outlawed. However, many British pilots are expected to join their European counterparts on the continent.
At present, it is unknown whether the protests will result in disruption for passengers. Pilots are protesting at new rules governing how long they can fly. Already in place in some EU countries, the rules are due to be implemented in the UK in 2012.
