Alanya airport fillip for property market investors
Alanya airport fillip for property market investorsThe news that a proposed new airport to be located just outside the centre of Alanya has been given the go-ahead is likely to lead to a rise in property prices in the Antalya region of Turkey, it has been claimed.

According to William Baird, managing director of Solaris Property, the new Gazipasa airport, which is to be built around 30km outside of Alanya, is likely to heighten demand for rented accommodation in the area.

This will in turn make property in the city and the surrounding area a more attractive proposition for market speculators.

"This significant development opens the way for tourists and investors alike to access this region of Turkey by direct flights," Mr Baird confirmed.

Currently, holidaymakers face a two hour journey from Antalya International Airport to reach the seaside resort.

However, they will soon be able to fly to within 20 to 30 minutes of the city centre.

The airport is due to open in mid-2008.
