Air France crash pilot identified
The pilot of the Air France flight that crashed into the Atlantic has been identified among the recovered bodies. Flight 447 disappeared off the coast of Brazil on June 1.

The body of Marc Dubois, the Air France flight's captain, has been identified by experts. The Times reports that 50 bodies have so far been found in the ocean, although all 228 people aboard the flight are assumed dead.

To date, 12 bodies have been identified. It has also been confirmed that the body of one of the flight's stewards is among those recovered from the Atlantic.

It is believed that the Air France jet broke up while travelling through a storm zone en-route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. Hopes are fading for finding the flight's 'black box' data recorders, which are due to stop emitting signals on June 30. Alert messages from the aircraft during the final few minutes reported several failures.

Earlier reports in France's Le Monde suggested that a very weak signal from one of the recorders had been detected. However, officials have now confirmed the sounds were not from the recorders.
