Zoppè di Cadore is situated in front of mount Pelmo. It is a unique mountain, because of its amphitheatre shape that makes it look like a throne when seen from the bottom.

Soon enough, popular tradition give it the nickname "Caregon del Padreterno" (The Lord's Throne) The massif is made up of Pelmo, and the highest peak reaches an altitude of 3168 meters (10.391 feet). The history of alpine climbing in Pelmo is linked to the Irishman John Ball, who in 1857 made one of the first climbs in the Eastern Dolomites.

The house is a typical house in wood situated in the oldest part of the village and was restored two years ago.

In summer, Zoppè di Cadore surroundings are among the best places to practice mountain sports: climbing – trekking – cycling – surfing (30 minutes far from S. Croce Lake) – hang-gliding

In winter It takes only 15 minutes to reach the SKI-CIVETTA Dolomiti superski (www.dolomitisuperski.com/civetta). The upper Zoldo valley is paradise for skiing and is part of Ski Civetta, the biggest skiing district in the Veneto and part of the Dolomite Superski skiing carousel. – ski running – snowboard - skitour -snowshoes ('ciaspole').

The house is on two level : living-kitchen-toilet on the ground floor. Two room on the first floor.

There is a big balcony on the south, a garden in front of the main entrance (south), and another little garden to the north near the bed-room.

Please note that to reach the entrance is necessary to walk across a path (100 meter from the car), and there are one steps into the main entrance of the house.

The Dolomites are immediately north the area of Treviso, Asolo, Conegliano and Venice.

Easily reachable by car taking the A27 Venezia-Belluno motorway, exit Longarone, 25 km far from Zoppè di Cadore. It takes only 30-40 minutes drive to be immersed in the hills where the best Italian wines are produced.

It’s a region rich in Art and history, with its abbeys, historical villa, museums and ruins of the great war.

In summer, the mountains around Zoppè di Cadore turns into a fascinating destination for excursions at high altitudes: the majestic mountain groups of Pelmo,Civetta, Moiazza, Mezzodì, Tamer, San Sebastiano and Bosconero, is a beautiful and still wild valley, located in a pristine corner at the hearth of the Dolomites.

Among the many available destination, the climb to the foot of the Pelmetto, allows to see the Dinosaurs tracks, the tracks of the pre-historical animals dated back to 250 million years ago. Another important evidence of the pre-historic era is the Man of Mondeval, dated back to the Mesolithic period and nowadays kept in the Civic Museum in Selva di Cadore.

Cortina d'Ampezzo is one of the most famous tuorist and holiday resort in the world ; is not far away from Zoppè, but by reason of the mountains road it take nearly 40-50 minutes by car.

So is better to stay here for all the activity tied up to the mountains: Zoppè di Cadore, mount Pelmo Region and Zoldo valley, are nothing whatsoever to envy from Cortina d'Ampezzo.
