Relax and Enjoy our pretty mountain Chalet. Enjoy yourselves and relax in our 2008 built, "Valaisian" styled chalet. Chalet Beau Mont can sleep up to eight, but we would prefer to stick to a maximum of six (discounts available for six of less). It is an immaculate, new Chalet finshed with quality fittings, so we want it to stay nice :-). The Chalet is upside down. Meaning that the Living Room and kitchen, entrance hall and shower room are on the hall floor. Designed this way to maximise the sunshine and the views. The Living Room opens onto a large balcony and terrace. The bedrooms and the master bathroom are on the lower levels. Two of the bedrooms lead out onto a large balcony. Overlooking the living room, there is a mezzanine, which is also arranged as the fourth bedroom (or snug), here there are two further single beds, which makes up the 8. This is a great, ideal for children. It can also be used as an extra living area. A VERY COSY AREA.
There is a cast iron stove for those wanting a safe log fire. Logs can be purchased in the Village, where possible we will leave logs at the Chalet, but we would be gratefull if you replaced those that you use. The chalet has modern under floor heating, which is assisted by a heat pump, so it is environmentally friendly!
The kitchen area is fully equipped with an oven, ceramic halogen hob, fridge-freezer, coffee maker and a dishwasher.
The garage, which is next to the front door, is a good place to store your skis, boots and any other equipment. This can be used to store luggage on handover days for those wanting to ski or fly on Saturdays.
Also note that the parking is right next to the front door. We mention this because we have rented Chalets in the past, which have involved a momumental slog with the luggage/shopping etc. Not a problem here.
Saturday is our change over day. We expect the chalet to be vacated by 10am on Saturday. The apartment will be ready for new arrivals at 4pm.
We are non-smokers, so we are afraid to say that smoking is not allowed inside the Chalet. Smokers need not be deterred as It is OK to smoke outside on the balcony or under one of the many covered terraces. If you do smoke, we would respectfully ask you to pick up any cigarette butts, which you may drop :-)
Pets may be permitted, subject to approval. Please contact us with further information about you pet.
Chalet Beau Mont is located just above the Village centre, in the most peaceful and picturesque part of town. You will enjoy some of the best views and scenery ever!. You will be close enough to enjoy all that the Village provides but you will be far enough away to enjoy total serenity.
Access to the spectacular skiing in Zinal is via the Zinal cable car, a short drive down into the Village.

SKI, SNOWBOARD, MOUNTAIN BIKING, PARAGLIDING, MOUNTAINEERING, WALKING OR JUST LAZING AROUND ENJOYING SOME FRESH AIR:
The valley of "Val d’anniviers" comprises of five separate but connected resorts covered by the same lift pass and all are accessible by bus: Zinal, Grimentz, St Luc, Chandolin and Vercorin. Providing a variety of skiing and snowboarding conditions and doubling the pisted runs to 225 kms. St Luc and Chandolin are more south-west facing so are a sunnier alternative in December and January. Chandolin enjoys some great fun, tobogganing runs.

Skiers:
BEGINNERS This is an excellent place to learn to ski or snowboard, with gentle, quiet slopes adjacent to the top of the cable car and the restaurant. There are easy drag lifts, a ski school (Ecole Suisse de Ski) and being at 2400m, the snow reliable. There is a ski school and kindergarten for young children too.
INTERMEDIATES There are plenty of pistes for a wide range of intermediate skiers and boarders. Swoopy, quiet blues and reds and some not too challenging blacks. The quiet pistes and reliable snow make this the perfect place to refine that technique and it's a good place to start exploring off piste skiing.
EXPERTS Zinal and Grimentz have large amounts of off-piste skiing adjacent to the pistes, including a designated free ride area. Because the place is so quiet, it doesn't get tracked out within a couple of hours as it does in other resorts. Further from the pistes there is limitless off-piste and ski touring potential, for those prepared to venture there. For example you can ski from Zinal to Vercorin and back in an all day guided 30k off-piste adventure. There is also an avalanche training centre for those wanting to increase their knowledge.
CROSS COUNTRY SKIING There are 19 km of tracks in Zinal, including 1.5km illuminated until 21.00. And there are another 29 km of tracks at Grimentz.
LIFT PASS The lift pass is very good value costing £98 for 6 days, which covers all 5 resorts and the bus between them. For children the cost is £60 for 6 days. Children under 6 do not need a lift pass when accompanied by an adult. No need to bring a passport photo as they will take a digital photo when you purchase your lift pass. Bring your Swatch snowpass watch, if you have one.
NEARBY RESORTS Should you want to explore further afield. Both Crans Montana and Verbier are less than an hour away and Zermat is also very assessable by car.
Zinal area

Zinal is a charming mountain Village in a breathtakingly beautiful spot. Far from the bustling crowds, nestled high in the the southern Valais mountains in the French-speaking region of Switzerland. Zinal sits at the foot and at the gateway to the “Imperial Crown”. These are four permanently snow covered 4000m peaks with the Matterhorn sitting just behind them, all on your doorstep.
Zinal offers everything you could want from an alpine resort, without the crowds, expensive shops and restaurants of larger resorts such as neighbouring Zermatt, Crans Montana & Verbier.
How to get there
You can be in Zinal in under two hours’ drive from Geneva airport, or three hours by train and bus to Sierre. Flights are from under £80 return in advance with Easyjet or Air France and the train and bus journey is £60 return. Flights are also available to Sion from London’s City Airport or from Gatwick on Saturdays during the winter. Cars can be hired in Geneva, Sion or Sierre and there is parking for three/four cars available directly outside the chalet. Plus there is a garage, The chalet is about 570 miles from Calais.
DRIVING FROM GENEVA AIRPORT Easy: It is motorway, all the way untl the bottom of the valley. From the airport follow the signs for Lausanne and then Simplon. When you get to Sierre (after about 110miles (175km) ) the motorway nears it's end and there is a new turn off for the Val d’Anniviers. Zinal is at the end of this valley, 14 miles (22kms) away. This is a serious mountain road and if there is any fresh snow, you will need snow chains or 4 wheel drive with winter tyres. If you do not have winter tyres on your car and are involved in an accident any where in Switzerland, you will be held responsible, even if it wasn’t really your fault. Drivers with little experience of winter alpine conditions may be advised to book a taxi transfer or get the bus. When you get to Zinal look out for the Estate Agency, Zinal Chalets, it is on the right as you enter the Village, before the Hotel Europe. The staff here will kit you out with the keys and everything that you should need.
As you come out of the Estate Agents, proceed right, along the high street. Go through the Village and after about 300m take the next turning on the left. Proceed up the small hill and turn right at the 'Hôtel les Bouquetins' proceed 50m and take the next left.
Procced along this road, following the signs for Cabane Tracuit, The Chalet is at the top of this road, as you turn the last bend you will spot the Chalet on the right hand side of the road. Park on the driveway in front of the garage,
Hiring a compact car like a VW Golf costs about £280 excluding fuel(Dec 2006) for the week from Easyjet at Geneva airport.
TRAIN AND BUS FROM GENEVA AIRPORT This is also straightforward. Tickets can be bought on-line at rail.ch. Type in from ‘Geneva airport’ and to ‘Zinal, poste’ (the post office). The ticket covers the train and bus journey. It is advisable to reserve a seat which can also be done on the web site. The 15.01 from Geneva airport arrives in Zinal at 18.03. The last connection leaves at 16.27 and arrives in Zinal at 19.47.
You will have to get off the train at Sierre station and from there take the bus to Zinal via Vissoie, where you have to change. From the bus stop in Zinal it is a 100m walk to the apartment. Have a look at the village map.
TAXI FROM GENEVA Taxi transfer to from Geneva airport or Sion airport can be arranged on request. A minibus for up to 8 people from Geneva Airport costs £480 for the return trip.

The price includes bed linen, but you will need to bring your own towells. The is a washing machine, should you need to use it.
A deposit of 25% is required to reserve the chalet. The full amount plus a security deposit of £250 is payable two months before the start of the holiday. The security deposit will be returned after your holiday if everything is in order.
