There is ample parking for 2-3 cars in front of the chalet.
The chalet is situated close to the village centre. Early morning trips to the boulangerie and to the ski lift are a short walk away. You can ski back to the chalet via the Piste Aigle which ends just a few yards from our door.
Unless there has been recent very heavy snowfall the chalet is accessible without snow chains/winter tyres, although these are always recommended in the high Alps.
In summer the main ski lifts run to give walkers and mountain bikers easy access to the most beautiful mountain scenery. The walking and biking routes have something for everyone, from easy and gentle through the meadows of alpine flowers to the slightly longer and higher ones that reach mountain huts overlooking glaciers.
FREE SUMMER VISITOR PASS - give you free uplift and buses plus free use of swimming pools, tennis courts and much more in the valley - please ask for more details. (Valid June- October)
Winter or summer the villages in the Val d'Anniviers are just what you would imagine from a traditional undeveloped valley.
The Swiss Alps region
The Valais includes some of the Alps' highest mountains, with 47 peaks over 4000 metres. The ski resort of Zinal is at an altitude of 1675 metres at the end of the Val d'Anniviers, known to the Swiss as one of their most beautiful valleys.
The Val d'Annivers is described as a hidden gem. In winter there is over 240km of piste all on one lift pass. Zinal has 70km of piste and is linked to Grimentz by the most fabulous black run. Most of the resorts have a top lift going to nearly 3000m's which gives a 1500m vertical descent in each area. For experienced skiers it's a good idea to hire a mountain guide and explore the extensive off piste.
In summer the slopes are covered in wonderful alpine flowers - the walking is superb and the main ski lifts run to give easy access to the high slopes. In addition to the huge variety of walks there is a large net work of mountain biking trails ranging from easy forest tracks to steep and difficult pathways. Paragliders also enjoy the area with the lift access and good landing spots.
There are also tennis courts, swimming pools, ice skating (in winter), pony trekking, and playgrounds.
