C'est la Vie
About the home
Our prices include ALL TAX. No hidden surprises. No added on charges.
Our gorgeous 2BR/2BA brand-new villa at Ensueño 10 hangs like a jewel above Playa La Ropa in Zihuatanejo, Mexico.
C'est la vie. This is the life. Newly built, extraordinary villa at Ensueño 10 overlooking the bay, where French farmhouse meets Costa Grande villa. Ensueño means 'daydream' and this villa is a dream both day and night.
Our luxurious villa with a rock wall a foot thick (think castle) features spectacular vistas from every room. It is one of just six villas in the compound.
The al fresco living area with its soaring palapa roof is a great place to kick back with a cool drink and enjoy the amazing sunsets over Bahia Zihuatanejo. It features an onyx dining table for 6, a copper topped coffee table, ample couch and chair seating. The breeze flows off the bay though the Parota wood shutters to keep you comfortable and cool.
There is no shortage of lounging available. The terrace/deck has a 'Bali Bed', which is really a comfortable double outdoor bed for lying and watching the boats dancing on the bay or the stars flying by. We have a hammock and moveable sling-back lounging chairs.
The kitchen features an 6-burner stove, granite counters, ample storage, double sink, microwave, Henckels knives, gourmet cooking pans, coffee maker & grinder, blender, toaster, orange juicer, mini-Cuisinart and numerous chef's tools (we love to cook!).
Our dishware is gorgeous blue and white hand-painted Talavera from Puebla and our glassware is Mexican hand-blown glass. The silverware is beautiful heavy stainless. We also supply you with a filtered water dispenser at the sink.
Each of two the upstairs bedrooms have king-sized beds (great mattresses!), 400+ Italian percale linens and air conditioning, terraces and views! The pillows are Pacific Coast feather and down pillows.
The two upstairs bedrooms have sliding doors with shutters and screens and bed canopies, so you can sleep with the sound of the waves lapping at your dreams. If you would rather, you can close the glass doors and use the AC (we almost never do).
For larger parties, you also have the option to rent a third detached bedroom suite.
All bathrooms feature onyx sinks and appointments. The master bath has the most beautiful bathroom with an outdoor shower and a tropical garden and a view to the bay. We have luxury towels and hair dryers in each bathroom.
The detached downstairs bedroom has two twin beds. Its bathroom is nestled right into the bedrock of the hillside. It is extraordinary.
We have in-house WIFI, Satellite TV in each upstairs bedroom, a house phone and a portable Bose docking station for your favorite tunes. We have our own washer and dryer, iron and ironing board. We supply beach towels.
You will be happy here.
We are four flights up, but the funicular can slowly ascend you to the front door.
The air- conditioned gym is equipped with Life Fitness treadmill, elliptical trainer and free weights. This winter of 2013, there is sitll some construciton as the last two casas in the building near completion. We do apologize for any noise and will work with the builder, Andres Saavedra, to minimze intrusion into your vacation.

The Mexican Pacific Coast / Guerrero region
C'est la Vie is located above The Tides Hotel. it is a short, steep two-block walk to Playa La ropa and its numerous beach restaurants.
We went to Zihuatanejo on our first date in 1978. Back then it was a sleepy fishing village, where you could lie on the beach all day under a palapa. You could take a occasional plunge in the gentle surf, sip a piña colada, dine on the freshest fish, and take a nighttime stroll under more stars than you could ever dream up.
Zihuatanejo has kept all of its old world charm and remains one of the most beautiful beaches and bays in the world. And Playa La Ropa is one of the most swimmable beaches in Mexico.
The Greek Isles, the Amalfi Coast, even the South Pacific Islands have little more to offer. We have traveled a lot since then, but Zihuatanejo is the place we always go back to.
The winter season in Zihuatanejo is very boring: sunny skies every day and the weather hovering around 80 degrees day and night. The bay dances with sailboats and the breezes are clean and crisp. Mother Nature puts on a good show every evening as the sun dips into the mouth of the bay.
I have an extensive 70-page guide to the area that I send to all my guests.
The Zihuatanejo / Colonia La Ropa area
Area activities include: swimming, snorkeling, scuba, jet ski, horseback riding, water skiing, sailing, body boarding, biking, kayaking, bird watching, whale watching and world-class surfing and fishing.
Festivals in Zihuatanejo

• Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival March 5 to 11, 2012 at various venues around town. Artists this year are fomr mexcio,Turkey, Canada,Brazil and the USA.
The Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival is dedicated to creating an international world class event to bring first rate musicians and appreciative audiences from across the globe to beautiful Zihuatanejo, Mexico, to generate tourism and raise cultural awareness within the community while raising money for art and cultural endeavors in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo.
The festival is held the second week of March each year and offers a week of live music in paradise. The music is world-class and the venues are intimate: hotels, restaurants, bars and live music spots around Zihuatanejo Bay, in central Zihuatanejo and in Ixtapa.
