Hacienda La Rusa B&B: where Jungle meets Beach
B&B | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
It is getting almost impossible to find beach destinations which have the feeling of “old Mexico” through the cultural offerings, affordable pricing and good old fashioned hospitality.
Barra de Potosi, 30 mins south of Zihuatanejo and 100 years behind, is the pace of life here is slow, relaxed, causing even the most hustle and bustle of visitors to slow down to the peaceful rate of the rhythmic ocean waves in the bay and sounds of sensual and passionate salsa at night.
Step back in time to a place filled with romance, music and laughter and enjoy the sanctuary of your own private mini-hacienda! Hotel Hacienda La Rusa has 3 colorful delightful and comfortable palapa roof bungalows, each are able to accommodate 2 guests, set in a breathtaking lush tropical garden of hibiscus, jasmine, roses and bougainvilleas.
One of the Bungalows is named Betsey. It was named after the previous owner - Betsey Johnson, a famous New Yorker, a fashion designer best known for her feminine and whimsical designs, who has created this charming hotel.

Hacienda, uniquely decorated, with antiques brought by previous and current owners from Europe and Mexico, has an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Completely walled for privacy, with 2 pools and tropical garden, it is perfect for honeymooners and couples.
The beach is a stone throw away. During the low season when the village is quiet, you will fall asleep to the sound of roaring waves. During the holidays, every day in the village is a fiesta, parties and music.
Wander the sands, swim, snorkel, hike the jungle or sit back next to the pool with a delicious margarita La Rusa and listen to the birds, watch dolphins and whales, frigatebirds, osprey, turtles and exotic vegetation play against that limpid lagoon, those marble sands and the sunsets of rubies and gold.
