Zell am see is the native town of Olympic double gold and silver medallist in Turin Felix Gottwald.The holiday resort of Zell am See lies on the eastern boundary of the Kitzbuheler Alps, 80km south west of Salzburg. A small alpine city between a lake and glacier. Zell am See excels in natural beauty and hosts a number of sporting and leisure activities. For those of you who want a relaxing break the town offers a variety of shops, cafes and bars where you can watch the world pass by. If you don't wish to venture far you can taste the delights of the local bakery / cafe located with a two minute stroll from the apartment. For the more energetic, Zell am see offers a multitude of sporting activities e.g. cycling, hiking, skiing,snowboarding, tennis, ice skating, trekking, water skiing, swimming (indoor, outdoor and lake), sailing, fishing, boating, mountain biking, ice hockey, diving, caving, canoeing, rafting, cross country skiing and horse riding. There is a sports stadium sixty seconds away hosting football and athletics.
